The Hurricane Proof Data Center from Peak10

With the opening of their new 60,000 sq ft building, Charlotte, NC-based Peak 10 now has almost 130,000 sq ft of data center space available in the Tampa, FL area. The high tech Peak10 building features the construction necessary to withstand the forces generated by a Category 5 hurricane, which can include wind speeds in excess of 157 MPH. As the only Peak10 building of its kind in the area, we can only hope such a weather phenomenon does not occur.

This new facility is Peak 10’s 25th build, placing data centers in ten markets, primarily in the southern US. Companies as diverse as the PGA and Red Hat make use of the existing facilities. The anchor tenant for the latest building is Five Points Technology, a local Human Services software development, consulting and support business.

Peak10 Services

Peak 10 offers colocation, public and private cloud services, and Recovery Cloud, their cloud-based disaster recovery service. As a managed service provider Peak10 can scale form simple equipment colocation to complete Infrastructure-as-a-service offerings.

David Jones, chairman and chief executive officer of Peak 10, has been quoted as saying that the design for the new Tampa facility is the template for Peak 10 buildings in other locations as they move forward.
