Windstream Plans for a New Data Center in Durham

                Windstream one of the premier providers of managed hosting solutions announced their plan to build a new data center in Durham, North Carolina. Windstream’s new facility in Durham is scheduled to open in 2013. Windstream Hosted Solutions currently runs two data centers in Raleigh – Durham. This new facility helps Windstream to cater customers’ demands for managed services and also help companies to reduce resources. Windstream’s data center in Durham is around 22, 000 sq ft. Initially 10 000 sq ft of will be added for data center inventory and later will be expanded up-to 40, 000 sq ft.

                Senior Vice President of Data Center Operations Windstream, Kip Turco said, “Windstream is committed to providing the personalized service businesses demand, ranging from point managed solutions such as managed security or storage to the complete delivery of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS). The Raleigh-Durham market is a critical area of growth for Windstream, and our new Durham data center will provide customers with the highest level of services and reliability.”

New facility from Windstream include array of features, including

  • Tier III modular design for easy expansion
  • 360tons of cooling capacity
  • 2500 kVa of unit capacity and

    can be increased to five times the current capacity

  • 24 x 7 x 365 security, remote-hand and technical support staff

Windstream recently announced the completion of its enterprise class facility in McLean, Virginia and plans about constructing a new

facility in Subarban Nashville, Tenn.
