Compass to build data centers in N.C., Tenn

Compass Datacenters said Monday it plans to build two new data center campuses, one in Research
Triangle Park, N.C., the other in suburban Nashville, Tenn.

Having unveiled last week a debt and equity financing package worth up to $162 million, Dallas-based
Compass said it has bought two land parcels for its first data centers.

One will be in Franklin, Tenn., on what is currently an undeveloped 14.6-acre parcel of land, a news
release said.

Compass has received planning approval from authorities there to build five data centers, each having
1.2 megawatts of power. A megawatt is enough juice to power roughly 200 homes during summer in
Texas.

The other property, in Durham, N.C., is a 16.5 parcel of land. Compass plans to construct three data
centers there, each with 1.2 MW.
