Canadian data center provider Data Centers Canada has announced that it has partnered with Cisco Systems in implementing the Cisco’s ASR 9000 Series Aggregation Services platform at its Toronto North Data Center Facility. Cisco’s 9000 Series Platform represents world class Carrier Ethernet transport with exceptional scalability, carrier-class reliability, environmentally conscious design and flexibility.
Data Centers Canada has been proactively expanding its breadth of network access services since early 2012. Network access capacity has been increasing both for Data Centers Canada in-house multi-homed BGP network platform along with expanding its on-net third party carrier presence at the Facility.
“This latest technology allows us to build on the existing infrastructure, and ensures that the future requirements for our clients can be delivered with the upmost redundancy and resiliency across the entire network platform. Clients are moving terabytes of data, and millions of packets per second. We need to ensure that as clients continue to grow and continue to introduce IPv6, we will have the capacities to deliver 40G and 100G services as they are required.”, commented Paul Di Benedetto Managing Partner at Data Centers Canada. The introduction of the new ASR 9000’s along with the Cisco Metro Ethernet 3600X Ethernet Switches delivers a robust foundation for the technologies of today and tomorrow.
It is anticipated that the network expansion program will be completed by the end of 2012.
