Looker announces EMEA headquarters in the UK

Data platform provider Looker has announced the launch of its first EMEA headquarters in London. Together with its operation in Santa Cruz, California, the company now employs more than 165 people.

Founded in 2011 by tech entrepreneur Lloyd Tabb, Looker has enjoyed five times year-on-year growth and voted ‘Cool vendor in analytics’ this year by Gartner. Looker is very successful with data analysts because of its unique architecture. While other business analytics tools move or extract subsets of data, Looker connects to the data directly in the data warehouse that it’s already in. This means with Looker, data teams can create a platform with centralised definitions – the building blocks of analysis -that the entire organisation can trust and use to explore all the data on their own.

The move is an important step for Looker as an emerging leader in business intelligence and will enable it to fulfil client demand for real time business analytics and data solutions across Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia.

‘We are extremely excited to embark on the next stage of our growth,’ said Frank Bien, Looker CEO. ‘Our investment in establishing a UK operation will allow us to acquire more customers and expand our team across EMEA. Companies are looking for new ways to transform their businesses using data and analytics to get the insights they need to make the best decisions. Data analytics is the future of everything.’
