Facebook Open Compute Foundation to Innovate Hardware

With its launch of the Open Compute Project last April Facebook open-sourced the proprietary server and the design of the data center for its Prineville facility. With the special proprietary, server, chassis, power supply and data center electrical and cooling designs Facebook has helped to speed up the hardware innovation process by sharing its designs with the other data center community members.
