Raging Wire is all set to establish another data center at Ashburn, North Virginia. It has decided to purchase a 75 acre plot from Lourdon County, and establish a 750,000 sq ft facility.

This data center will be an addition to the already growing list of data centers at Ashburn. Ashburn has already become the home for several data centers spanning a massive area of 55 million sq ft. there are many more projects that are underway or in the development pipeline. The new project is going to create a market for the Sacramento based colocation provider in the East Coast.

It is said that Raging Wire has agreed to pay $20 million to buy 75 acres of plot owned by Lourdon County. Raging Wire’s Ashburn data center is going to be located adjacent of the data centers of Verizon Business and Du Pont Fabros. The company also explained that this expansion is a proof of the growing demands for the Raging Wire services in the Northern Virginia market.

“RagingWire is thrilled to continue its investment in Loudoun County and expand its business coast to coast,” said George Macricostas, founder and CEO of RagingWire. “We believe that Loudoun is the right location for us to expand our business operations, complimenting our flagship 500,000 square-foot data center in Sacramento, California and our newest facility in Ashburn, Virginia.”

The sale of the vacant land to Raging Wire by the Lourdon County has proved to be extremely beneficial. The returns are going to be used to improve infrastructure in the region. Lourdon County also mentioned that Raging Wire would be paying $200,000 as annual property tax. This amount is estimated to go beyond $16 million with the start of the operations at the data center.
