Kajaani, Finland/London – 21 September 2012 – A unique forum for investors, datacenter operators

Taking place on-site at the Kajaani location in central Finland – just over one hour flying time from
Helsinki – the forum will focus on how new regions can be developed to become power houses for
sustainable datacentre operations.

Attendees will experience at first hand the advantages of the Kainuu location for datacentre facilities
and witness a first-of-class modern modular datacentre during build and operation, and learn how
existing industrial infrastructure has been adapted to suit modern datacentre requirements to
exploit the possibility of minimal CAPEX development.

In addition, attendees have free access to an IT forum supported by the Green Grid taking place on
24th October.

“These are exciting times. By applying the same systematic analysis utilised by the nuclear power
industry, Finland is setting new benchmarks that will reflect reductions in CAPEX and OPEX,” says
Carl Wideman, FDI & IT Services Sector, Business Development Director at Invest in Kainuu. “By
recognising what global datacenter giants now understand about the superior infrastructure often
found in the Nordics and applying it across the rest of the industry, the region is shifting the focus of
data centre efficiency from infrastructure to internal technical proficiency.”
