Marist College – Institute for Data Center Professionals

The Institute for Data Center Professionals at Marist College was established in 2004 with funding from the National Science Foundation to provide vendor neutral education, training and workforce development for the data center community. We have grown significantly over the years and have expanded our educational offerings to stay current with the needs of the industry. Our core data center program consists of six associate level certificates covering all aspects of the data center environment from infrastructure to IT applications. Specifically these certificates cover:

    Systems and Software
    Networking
    Facilities management
    Operations & Process management
    Product Development & Financial Planning
    Security

When a student completes these certificates, they have earned certification as a Data Center Professional. If they already have 50 college credits in addition to these certificates, they are also awarded a Data Center Technologies Certificate from Marist College. We have also expanded beyond this core program and now offer certificates in Advanced Facilities Management, Greening of the Data Center and several certificates covering enterprise computing topics for mainframe systems and application programmers. Most of our courses provide 3 undergraduate college credits in addition to a very robust and comprehensive curriculum. The courses are 100% online and asynchronous but definitely instructor-led. Our instructors are a combination of Marist faculty and industry experts. Our data center expert instructors are principals in their own businesses but teach for us on a regular basis as adjunct instructors. We do have a “Meet the Faculty” page on our website detailing the bios of our instructors.
