Sandia to Use New Cooling System

(Data Center Talk) — Sandia have adopted a new cooling system for their Red Sky supercomputer at Sandia National Laboratories. The unique cooling system combines a cool air flow with a rear door Glacier refrigerant cooling system. The system uses the traditional raised floor air cooling with a refrigerated rear doors on the racks and reduces the amount of energy by not using fans.
