cisco vs others

I want to know whether Cisco Routers are very necessary for small businesses? Or would a Linksys or Netgear work just as well?

I have been using Linksys router since some time without any problems, Haven't used Cisco but they are a bit costly. Linksys is a renowned brand in Networking gears and can be trusted for their products.

I think your router purchase should be based on your requirements, not on brand name. By the way, Cisco purchased Linksys in 2003.

Cisco has also been planning on dropping the Linksys brand since last year, most likely to avoid the confusion once and for all but I don't think it's happened yet.
