CoSentry Nebraska Data Center Earns Energy Star Certification

CoSentry one of the cloud services and Co-location providers announced that its data center in Nebraska has earned Energy Star Certification from USEPA (United States Environmental Protection Agency). This facility marks the first data center in the Midwestern region to earn this certification. This facility was constructed in 2010 and was built officially opened Lenexa, Kansas data center with 60, 000 sq ft of data center space.

Facilities Manager for CoSentry’s National Data Center, Scott Capps said, “Achieving Energy Star certification is incredibly exciting for us.

Not only is it an award that that demonstrates our commitment to low cost, low impact energy usage, but it also puts us in an excellent position to continue our LEED certification process.”

CoSentry’s facility in Nebraska earned this certificate through its design specification which is capable of providing nearly 100% uptime and efficiency rating which is 50% greater than traditional data centers. CoSentry said data center has achieved the Energy certification because of the low cost of energy in the Midwest region, compliance governance and Midwest climate which provides 3 season free cooling.
