The EPA has, since 2003?, a program in place for all diesel engines. This is separate from the Uptime Institutes Tiers.

I was told by a Ziegler/CAT dealer that I can still buy and install a Tier I diesel generator, however after 2008(?) Tier I diesels wouldn't be installable again.
Tier II he said can only be installed till 2011.
I was hoping someone had a better understanding of this setup than I did so I could make some more informed decisions. Our finance people don't want to touch a diesel that will have no real re-sale value later on. And how would this Tier system effect the depreciation of the generator?
