POSITION SUMMARY:
The incumbent provides systems level support for production critical systems, implementation support and user acceptance environment support on a global basis. This support consists of: technical assistance to users, resolution and prevention of problems in a 7 x 24 production environment with pager responsibilities, systems capacity planning and recommendation of solutions to overcome resource constraints, systems level software installation and updates.
The incumbent is also responsible for establishing and enforcing departmental logical access control guidelines and liaison with other departments for assistance with implementing new projects. The incumbent will have knowledge in one or more of the following platforms, in the order written: Solaris, Windows and Linux.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2+ years experience working with SAN and Backup technology
- Must have good experience with UNIX Solaris and Windows Operating Systems administration
- Must have good working experience with Veritas Foundation Suite and Netbackup
- Experience working in a large, enterprise environment with 100s of servers
- Experience with problem solving, trouble shooting analysis.
- Excellent verbal, written communications, and listening skills
- Good familiarity with TCP/IP and network systems
- Works well under pressure and time constraints and can prioritize competing priorities appropriately.
- Willingness to work overtime and provide on-call support as required.
- Scripting capabilities is a plus
- Handle 2nd level calls
- Working knowledge of SAN management software, Hitachi HDvM is a plus.
- Knowledge of various tapes and tape drive technology
- The candidate must have excellent communication and service skills
