Hi, I have a small data center consisting of 6 two-post racks and about 50 servers , in addition to other networking equipment.
I'm looking for a way to actually get the electrical usage coming from the data center, is this possible ? I believe I have a 20Amp break feeding the panel in my room, is there a device that can be installed in between to act as a usage collector ? Forgive me if this sounds far-fetched.
We're introducing VMware into the environment, and i desperately need to get concrete power usage data/metrics prior to the implementation.
This type of data will be used as a justification in the reduction of our utility bill, but, as you can imagine, i need to get bottom line numbers.

Thanks all.
Do you have a UPS? you should be able to get the power readings from that.
