We are currently using only Hp rack mountable servers.
We use only HP for standardisation purposes and because we have found them to be very stable and configuring raid on the HP servers is so simple. We also only buy rack mountable inorder to save space in our server room.
Which kind of servers are your organisation using and why?
Servers are a commodity, IMO get the cheapest and most available and be done with it. When I first started we were primarily a HP shop, with the pricing Dell offered us we im################y switched and never looked back. The pricing is great and we can get a server in as little as 3 business days.
Depends on what you need. If you are self-sufficient, then a vendor like Dell or even web vendors may suit your hardware needs. If you need lots of vendor support, it may be better to establish a relationship with a vendor who offers more complete services, like IBM, HP or Sun. Of course, support and cost increase together. Think fast food vs. fine dining.

We have never bought Dell servers before. From what you said it looks like the prices for Dell Servers are cheaper than the HP servers. I need to check that up. We might be missing out on some really good deals.
We've always gone with Sun Fire x86 servers. They are not much more expensive than the Dell R200 and are much more power efficient, which helps with our datacentre costs!
