Default Suing a data center for a fire?

I read somewhere about a hosting company being sued because their data center caught on fire. Would this mean that the company was negligent in some way or could they be sued even if it was a fire that they could not have controlled?

I would think they were found to be negligent in some way. Perhaps they did not take the proper fire safety measures, did not have enough detectors and sprinklers or something of that nature.
