Default anti static methods

how can one reduce static in the data center equipment room? i read that you can use rubber boots and door mats. is there any other method to reduce static?

Raising the relative humidity in the room will help reduce static. Also, training staff to be more static aware -- use wrist straps and other safe handling techniques when working on internal components -- will help eliminate static related equipment damage.

if you can afford be to slightly generous with your resources, some data centers have installed anti-static flooring itself; you may want to try that.

but other than the techniques Ken suggested, all you can do is ensure your equipments are grounded properly. not much of a help, but good grounding is always good practice, anyway.
