Default Router monitoring tool

For some time we are looking for a comprehensive tool to monitor and analyse cisco routers. There seems to be enough around, but to be honest, I don't want to try them all to find out, the last tested is the best ... :-)

So, I am hoping to get the benefit from you experienced network spe############ts, and asking for some hands on opinions. The analysis must exceed only traffic offcours, and will have to be about protocol etc. Also, an alarming tool (traps or ...?) would be nice. Also, a real time sniffer is appreciated.

It doesn''t have to be free (allthough less is nice), but my limit is somewhere around $ 1,000.- max. for a license.

So, who can help me out?

Thanks in advance.

Try:
Cisco CMS, Cisco CNA (both available from the cisco.com site)

(i know this is an older thread but) You may also want to look @ the tools from Solarwinds.

There tools are quite extensive and will allow you to do more than just Cisco --- which is nice.

Thanks, I'll have a look at that.

We have started with NetFlow Analyzer to see if it suits our needs.
