Exclamation Sun to Eliminate Data Centers by 2015

Here is a bombshell from Sun Microsystems about their plans for in-house data centers: http://blogs.sun.com/brianc/entry/su..._consolidation.

It doesn't seem shocking. Lots of companies are moving their IT infrastructure out of the enterprise, and into a facility that is owned/operated by a company whose core competency is datacenter operations. Just because Sun makes devices that are targeted at the datacenter doesn't give them any special ability to run a facility better than any other large tech-oriented enterprise.
