Default Fire Prevention?

What kind of Fire Prevention Measures do you guys apply? Is it good to use a specialized service in this regard as fire can be a common and most destructive mishap in a DataCenter?

Take a look at VESDA: www.vesda.com

The ever rare smoldering of a server can quickly be detected and remidied using this detection system.

Nice tool I must say, surely worth a try. Any other preventive measures you have to take in a DataCenter.

We also take all of the logical precautions. Customer's must remove packaging or any trash from the raised floor im################y. No garbage cans on the raised floor. Basically just minimizing the potential for something to catch on fire.

Default Our latest Project...

We implemented a very sophisticated system in our last project. We used a air sampling system that samples air in Hot aisle containment clusters.
If high levels of contaminants are detected, a alarm is given to the staff. The staff confirms the alarm and if necessary initiates the discharge of NOVEC1230 agent inside the Racks.
There is also a secondary air sampling / Novec 1230 system that covers the data center floor outside the containment cells. This system allowed us to build as we go and reduced our up front cost.
The system is so reliable, that the state fire marshall gave us a waiver on some distance/door requirements.
