Excellent working knowledge: Windows XP/2000, Windows 2003 server and Exchange 2003

Excellent working knowledge: MS Office Product line

Excellent working knowledge: Cisco Products (routers/switches/pix/vpn)

Excellent working knowledge: TCP/IP, PPTP, IPSec, PPP, Frame-Relay, advanced IP routing

Working Knowledge: Red Hat Linux and IPTables

Working Knowledge: Packet Shaping Devices

Reporting to:

Primarily

The candidate will be reporting directly to the IS Operations Manager, who is stationed in Burlington, Ontario.

Secondary

The candidate is also responsible for interacting with local senior management and staff to address and manage their expectations and requirements

Goals and Objectives.

Ø Provide a high level of support for North American wide area network and local area networks

Ø Automate monitoring tasks, so that the main focus can be support of the user community and process/procedure improvements

Ø Promote consistency and standardization throughout the IT environment

Ø Ensure that agreed standards are maintained and carried out in regard to Hardware/Software upgrades/maintenance/installations and are in-line with Central IT

Responsibilities.

Provide a high level of support and maintenance to WAN and LAN
Ensure regular communication with Central IT
Ensure that the environment is secured in terms and ensure network integrity
Monitor and maintain VPN devices and internet devices (www, webmail)
Investigate new technologies that can lower the telecommunications budget
