Senior Backup & Recovery engineer (Toronto)

My Client, a large Financial organization in the downtown core, requires the services of a Senior Infrastructure engineer, with specific emphasis in Backup and Recovery technology

Requirements:
• Experience in Engineering ,automation and design of enterprise based backup technologies.
• Knowledge of approaches, tools and techniques for anticipating, recognizing, and resolving technical (hardware, software, application or operational) problems.
• Knowledge of sotware technology and global, regional and local software architecture and infrastructure components.
• Working knowledge of the following technologies: Netbackup 6.x, SUN STK Tape hardware (9940B, T10K, LTOx). SUN ACSLS server, SUN v890/490/445 servers, EMC EDL’s, EMC DL3D’s. SUN STK Tape libraries SL8500, L700, L1400.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups or activities. Effective judgment in prioritizing and time allocation

Working knowledge of the following technologies:

• SUN STK, SL8500, L700, L1400
• SUN STK ACSLS, Libattach
• SUN STK, 9940x, T10K, LTOx, SDLT Tape drives
• SUN v890/490 T5220 servers
• SUN solaris 9,10
• Microsoft 2003 server
• EMC EDL 4206, 4406, DL3D4000
• Symantec Netbackup 6.x, 5.x, 4.5
• Symantec BMR, Puredisk
• Scripting and Excel Macros.
• UNIX workgroup and Enterprise class servers
• TCP/IP networking, DNS, UNIX, MS Windows account management
