Hi Misma,
Do you have any of those servers?
11-03-2004, 08:23 PM
No, we don't have any that big where I work. The 'biggest' Wintel box we have that I admin is probably a quad-Xeon 2 ghz w/ 4 GB RAM. Not sure what some of our bigger HP Unix boxes run hardware-wise.

Do you work for datacenter or is your server colocated in datacenter?.

The place I work at has a datacenter but we don't co-host for people or anything like that. Just have the company's servers in there.

Yea you got that right! I wish i have more servers like that. *or is the guy running them....

Dual Opteron's (242 at least if not better)
4+ GB RAM
4+ WD 250 GB Raptor SATA drives
RAID 0+1
FreeBSD AMD 64 installed.
I have the server, just not the 250 Raptor's. I have the normal 250 SATA's for now..
Edited to add:
Current server is connected at 1 Gb/s, the dream server would have to be connected at 2 Gb/s since there is two Gb/s NIC's..
