Thanks for the information guys, its really necessary for data centers to go for such options because power is the biggest challange in front of today's DCs.
As much as I have heard, Data Center Park that is under development in Nevada, will feature 700MW of on-site natural-gas-fueled generation capacity and access to large-scale wind and solar projects.
it's a shame that solar power provides a very small power requirement of the data center. nowhere close to taking a DC completely off the grid. instead of spending heavily on solar cells, one might want to consider looking into fuel cells. they generate enough power to keep the data center running on its own. what's more it even works on a cloudy day!
