Default When to use BGP protocol.

I belevie BGP protocol is good for multihomed BW connection. Does anyone use BGP for single homed BW. I am just wondering. I guess this is not benifitial to use BGP for single homed. Can anyone give proper reason.

Hi,

BGP is good when you have big network with muliple connection. It is designed to efficiently manage a large, multi-organisation routing table, such as the global Internet routing table. We can manage the large number of routes on the Internet using BGP. It has many features to manage routing announcements which are not needed any other protocol such as interior routing protocol.

BGP is mostly unnecessary for single homed connections unless you have a need to propigate communities upstream or announce your own blocks.
