CPU or RAM

When you decided to buy server. Would you mainly consider on RAM or CPU. If you are choosing what ratio is prefer. For example

p42.4 1GB ?
P42.8 2 GB?

What ratio, you would prefer.

I am also wondering, How about for Xeon servers. Do they need more RAM?.

Xeon cpu's are better when compared to a normal P4 processors.

I dont think having more ram is a must, but having more ram is definitely recommended whether you use a P4, Xeon or even a Celeron.
