Hi Attagirl RAID stands for Redundant Array of Independent/Inexpensive Disks.
Generally it is used on server for data backup.A combination of two or more drives.

Among all five, i think RAID-5 is the best choice in multi-user environments which are not write performance sensitive. However, at least three, and more typically five drives are required for RAID-5 arrays.
