Default hydrogen level in battery room

how can you measure hydrogen gas levels in the battery room? what is the acceptable level of hydrogen in the room?

You can measure hydrogen concentration with a sensor like this: http://www.sbsbattery.com/subpage_index.php?_subp_=109, which alarms at 2%. Apparently, concentrations as low as 4% have explosion potential.
