Default Backup solutions

What are the backup solutions that any data center should have at hand? Just to make sure that your data center doesn't crash along with all the data that's stored.

For back-ups you need big hard disks to store the data. Make sure you don`t have electricity problem.

It would depend on your needs. You can do regular backups on tapes, regularly replicate data from the server you want to backup to another server or regularly create images of your server so that they can easily be restored to another server or a virtual machine

I've had to use them all from the super cheap USB HD to the EMC solutions. I suggesting going with more than just one solution. Just because you paid $150K for a backup solution doesn't mean its 100% bullet proof.

For larger backups you need hard disk of huge capacity especially for large amount of data. Also make sure about electric supply problem, if so you need to have good inverter if there is such kind of problem. These are some ways that can be adopted as a backup solution.

The data center should offer a tested restoration process. And the backup copy should be located in multiple places and not near the original copy. There should be automated backup and scheduling, to avoid human errors. And there should also be a verification and monitoring strategy for the backup.
