Lightbulb Hi (Is owning a DC a good idea?)

Hi All,

I am pretty much a noob when it comes to DC operations (and forums) so I hope this is in the right place to post.

While I have used DCs for both Colo and various hosting types (I am a hardware/software developer) I know very little about running a DC.

A friend of mine recently passed away and his widow has asked if I am interested in a DC he owned. As I understand it has been empty for 6 months+ and while at least tier 2, is of the old large data hall type.

Can anyone recommend any resources where one can learn about running a DC as a business as well as the technical (Data Centers for Dummies does not seem to be in print)?

Many thanks for any help or advice you may have.
