Data Centers are growing very fast. The Reason is all information is managed in these only and these are now business critical. To keep Datacenter more stable and reliable, Electrical System plays a key role. One should be careful enough while planning for electrical system which is going to give life to their Data Center.
The availability of business systems at Datacenter is significantly impacted by AC mains power quality. The degree to which power quality affects business systems depends on many factors, which include:
1. The quality of the electrical power
2. The downtime caused by factors unrelated to power
3. The ability of the business systems to recover from power problems
Electrical system should match the most of standards by vendors followed in the region. It is imperative to have datacenter electrical system to have a robust monitoring system so that any potential problem can be reported in or before time and can be taken care by the experts.
A typical rack consumes 12-18KVA power and need 75% more power to cool the same floor space. Choosing right type of power not only impact availability but also affects revenue of your business organization.
This all comes at a cost. These growing Data Centers have impact on environment and have considerable carbon foot print. Considering our social responsibility we should try to minimize power consumption by optimizing on Data Center resources. Try to use RECs which is derived from non-conventional resources.
