Default HW recognation

I installed a brand new backplane so that I can accommodate more disk drives. But I dont know how to view the new drives. What is the process?

There are several ways to do that. You can execute drvconfig. It will work if there is nothing special in the installment. usually the drvconfig works in every device.
I dont know much about the hardware you are using. But if you are using HW raid then you can open the raid manager and and drives if you want.
