Default Data Center Housekeeping

Are professional cleaning services available exclusively for Data Centers? With trained staff who have an idea of what to and what not to step on?

Yes. In our case we have a local raised floor contractor vacuum the subfloor and damp mop the tile surface every year. Recently, following some data center remodeling, we had them vacuum the server cabinets. You might find a similar company in your area, or a general cleaning company that specializes in data centers.

yes, they do have cleaning services exclusively for data centers. regular vacuuming is required under raised floors and the data center has to be cleaned for dust regularly too.

If you are considering hiring someone to clean, you want someone who knows how to deal with data centers. You don't want a random Joe trying to clean, and messing stuff up. That is why there are specialized cleaning services, just for data centers.

You want to make sure the cleaning crew is licensed and bonded. You don't want to hire Merry Maids to clean your raised floor data center. You want someone that is licensed to show they understand the requirements of performing that type of work. And you definitely want them to be bonded incase you have to file a claim against them for your own protection.

Interesting question! I never even thought that there would be such a cleaning service. I always try my best to use an air blower, but I was worried that the air force would be too much. I would rather hire a professional who knows what they are doing.
