Default Carpathia Government Solutions’ GM to Speak on Cloud Computing Panel at OnDC

Seth Finkel, general manager of the Carpathia Government Solutions business unit, will participate on a panel discussing the imperatives driving Federal adoption of cloud technologies at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, October 21 at the OnDC event.

On the panel, titled “The Federal Cloud”, Finkel will discuss opportunities for federal agencies in the cloud and how they can leverage new hardware and matrix models to share IT services and resources, as well as the potential for outsourcing some of this new capacity.

Carpathia Hosting, which commands one of the most impressive rosters of federal agencies under management, currently delivers cloud solutions for a diverse range of federal agencies. Additionally, Carpathia is redefining the federal hosting market with a comprehensive suite of federally-compliant hosting and IT management services — ranging from traditional colocation and managed hosting to federally-compliant cloud services delivered via the most secure, federally-compliant hosting facility in the world.

Carpathia Hosting is also known for creating the first managed cloud solution designed for enterprises. Called AlwaysOn/InstantOn™, this hybrid model provides the security, availability and reliability of a traditionally hosted environment paired with instant access to cloud computing and storage.

The first annual OnDC event is a two-and-a-half-day executive gathering from October 19-21 that will highlight the significant economic, political and commercial trends affecting global innovation industries in sectors most affected by the federal government. At stake, among other things, is $80 billion in federal spending in these industries. The event will take place at the Four Seasons Hotel in downtown Washington DC.

OnDC explores the intersection of entrepreneurs and venture capital investors with various high-tech sectors. The focus will be on how the federal government and the high-tech community can together identify the most promising relationships to capitalize on the opportunities represented by government as Washington contemplates dramatic new legislation and regulatory oversight.
