I'm trying to find web hosting and data center blogs to help me keep up with the industry and learn new things, but so far I've mostly just found a lot of manager/VC types talking about cloud computing and other buzz words. I'm more looking for blogs by techs and admins about day to day problems they run into and they solutions they find, and new tools and hardware that they find useful. Does anyone know of any blogs like that?
Yeah, I've seen that before, but it's not really what I'm looking for. It seems to focus mostly on abstract things industry news and trends. I'm looking more for practical things, like a tech/admin/engineer bloging about day to day problems/solutions and tips/tricks.
as far as I know there isn't much that my coworkers or I have found out there like that.
Most of the blogs related to our industry are focused on the industry it self and not on its detailed inner workings like you are looking for. If your interested in learning more about the day to day stuff, your gonna have to hit the white papers and knowledge bases that are out there.
I think you should look for where the Sys-Admins hang out, maybe that will help?
You should look into more IT/tech blogs that answer questions of programmers - try stackoverflow.com. There are tons of developer communities out there, just do a search.
