Default What are some of the ways

What are some of the ways to optimize your data center? Please be very specific with your answers and provide samples if necessary. I have heard things such as boosting performance with flash technology, and more.

The first thing we should consider is minimizing the power consumption in the data centers. Secondly, when too many people spend too much time around critical systems, it greatly increases exposure to both malicious and inadvertent security risks. So, this should be avoided.

Power is where your big savings will be made in an opex term - whether that be replacing older systems with more energy efficient systems, or identifying where systems are really underutilized and downgrading or combining functions on to lesser hardware.

Also check out your cooling systems, if they are a fair few years old, it can often be worthwhile to take the capex hit to replace them with more energy efficient models which often pay for themselves in a short amount of time (less than a year).

Attagirl has a tendacy of asking questions without a lot of substance behind them. Thus the questions become extremely difficult to respond to because there is insufficient detail.
