Aside from Cisco routers. Linksys & Netgear routers are doing a pretty good job in being one of the best and popular brands in the router business.

There are so many quality routers are available in the market. But my personal favorite is Cisco. I like this brand. I am using it from last 7 or 8 years and I have found almost no problem at all. Also the customer support for their product is superb.

Cisco is very popular and it's very expensive simply because they're the best.

If you want a true router to push a couple gigabit, I wouldn't go with anything but a Juniper MX series router anymore. Juniper has a long, proven track record at this point and for what they do the MX's come in at a great price point.

The OS (JunOS) is quite different from Cisco, but better in most ways, with easy ways to roll back changes, changes needing to be committed (not just taking affect im################y) etc. It'll take some getting used to, but is worth it.

I also suggest you to get Cisco Router. It's very expensive but in quality and work that is awesome.
