Your first task is to define what do you want to market
Calling cards
VoIP VPN
LD and International Termination
Faxing Via VoIP
You second task will be to define the size of a typical customer that you want to go after. Keep in mind that for LD, International and faxing the service has to be based on deposit otherwise you can loose your shirt.
As for equipment and software if you choose the revenue sharing route you dod not need to invest anything. If you want to start everything by yourself, then it is expensive. For example a carrier grade system (VocalTec) Gatekeeper, Network Manager Licenses and few Gateways will cost you about 20,000 Now if you want to ofer a reliable service you need a second Gatekeeper as a snapshot, billing server billing software and an agreement with a carrier to provide A-Z I hope that you get the picture why the revenue sharing is the way to start.
