Liebert and DataAir are probably 2 of the best know brands in CRAC. Most large systems are chilled water based systems powered by centrifigal chillers and smaller systems are refrigerant based just like conventional A/C, but build for high volume and continuous use.

Good info. I'd add that when shopping for HVAC gear to cool your data center, remember that 90% or more of your load is sensible. Buying regular A/C units is a big mistake since the coils used in those units are designed for a high latent load. Real CRAC units cost more up-front, but its well worth it to get the job done right.
If space is an issue, the Liebert Challengers are awesome. Up to 5 tons of sensible cooling in a very small footprint.
