Default Review on peer1.net

Hi All,

Here is the review for peer1.net. We would difinetly recommend them. Also if anyone has experience with peer1.net feel free to share with us.

Network: Peer 1 has standardized our network on the following carriers; MCI, AT%T, Savvis and Global Crossing. We blend the best routes form these quality providers with our 500+ private and public peering arrangements. These blends of carriers plus peering arrangements allow us to provide our customers with the highest quality bandwidth for a very reasonable price. Also guarantee Zero packet loss on our internal network as well.


Datacenters: Peer 1 provides our customers with 100% uptime collocation. We own and operate datacenters in Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, New York, Seattle, and San Jose as well as datacenters coming soon in Chicago, LA, Virginia and the UK. We guarantee 100% uptime to our collocated customers for power and internet connectivity. Customers have the option to purchase different sizes of locked cabinets and custom cages with in our datacenters. We have the following locked cabinet sizes available; 4U, 10U half and full locked cabinets.

Uptime: We guarantee 100% uptime to our collocated customers on power and internet connectivity



Tech support: We have a 24 x 7 toll free tech support phone number. This is answered by a live voice.



Back up: Our network is fully redundant in every way. This means each facility is multihomed with multiple upstream providers. We also have UPS and emergency backed up Diesel generator power in every facility.



Peer 1 Network also provides our customers with 24 x 7 unescorted access plus free IP addresses.

Does Peer1 NYC has 24/7 people/tech on site? Last time I asked them, they did not have one. However, they may have one now considering they just opened new colo space.

Peer1 does not offer on-site support after normal business hours in NYC. They do in some other facilities, but not in NYC. The customer can call the NOC and they will dispatch a Peer1 tech, but this usually takes about 1 hour + for someone to get there, and longer at 2-4 AM when subways do not run as often.

We spoke to Peer1 and they reccomended a great company that has several staff members that are local, and they do all our remote hands work for us 24x7 both at TELEHOUSE and Peer1.

If anyone is interested please contact me and I can give you thier contract information. We have have alot of success with them, and the reponse times are 1/4 the time of the Peer1 NOC. This company works very close with Peer1 also and provides night support for many Peer1 customers currently.
