2.4 GHz cordless phones and microwave ovens can interfere with 802.11b and 802.11g wi-fi systems. 5.8 GHz cordless phones can interfere with 802.11a. New 802.11n wireless gear can use both frequencies, but has built-in features to help avoid interference.
Thanks for that information Ken; I didn't know microwaves and cordless phones can interfere with Wi-Fi frequencies. It’s a good thing I hate using cordless phones for my landline.
