Default Advantage on Digital transmission

What is the advantage of using Digital transmission instead of analog transmission. I thought analog transmission is more powerful than digital.

Thank You
Greg

There are more advantages on digital communication. For example voice, data and fax can be intragated together. You don't need much BW for each channel. Also digital sinal is more secure and you can encrypt the signal.

Thanks

Digital signals have a range of advantages, less easily corrupted also I suspect digital is easier for computers to handle, as computers would need to convert digital to analog to transmit analog and vuce versa.

Definition of Digital - A method of storing, processing and transmitting information through the use of distinct electronic or optical pulses that represent the binary digits 0 and 1.

Advantages of Digital -
? Less expensive
? More reliable
? Easy to manipulate
? Flexible
? Compatibility with other digital systems
? Only digitised information can be transported through a noisy channel without degradation
? Integrated networks

Definition of Analogue -
Analogue is a transmission standard that uses electrical impulses to emulate the audio waveform of sound. When you use a phone, the variations in your voice are transformed by a microphone into similar variations in an electrical signal and carried down the line to the exchange.

Advantages of Analogue -
? Uses less bandwidth
? More accurate

The Advantages of digital transmission over analog are:

1) Digital signals do not get corrupted by noise.
2) Digital signals typically use less bandwidth.
3) Digital signal can be encrypted so that only the intended receiver can decode it.

Also, digital signal is for long distance connections. They are faster and reliable.

Digital signal can easily understand by every de3vice which was taking part in digital transmission and every device can not be act as modem to convert it. Because analog signal can ravel more then digital signal. Digital signal having less noise then analog signal, give better performance, secure transmission, easily access on Internet.

With Digital transmission voice and data both can be integrated. In this way we can use both voice and data at a single time.
