Default Restore password protected file

I have some MS word 2002 files in a drive which is password protected. I used some software to unlock it but didnt work. Any other way it is possible to restore?

It is possible that your files have been corrupted that is why it was not possible to restore using software. Usually, it is easy to restore such files from software but in your situation it might be corrupted files.
You can use some other text editing softwares to open such as OpenOffice or LibreOffice Write. These are free software that you can use instead of any paid software. I am not sure these will work but its worth a try. Notepad++ is another option that you can use it to open files. The chances are high with these applications because they are Word related software.
