As I've read through WHT, tt seems that FDC offers the cheapest prices for colo (starting at $39 for unmetered 10Mbps). It is also well-established and the service is quite reliable and support is helpful, however the network is not top of the range.
So I am wondering whether there are any alternatives that come close to FDC?
I am trying to widening options. My ideal package would be like this: 1U, ~5000GB on 100Mbps port, < $50, the nearer to the US east coast, the better.
For that price there aren't too many options. Ones I can think of that I've seen in the past are the following. Only provider I've used below is wholesaleinternet which I'd recommend.
wholesaleinternet $40 for 10Mbps
Joes Dc $40 for 10Mbps
Colounlimited $50 for 10Mbps
Volumedrive(Can't remember there exact pricing, but I thought they had similar pricing)
You wont be seeing much, for the price range your looking for the cost of the power+bandwidth is higher than what your paying. They are either breaking even or taking it as a loss leader.

Thanks for the listing Just a correction:
Joe's datacenter cheapest offer is 1.5TB of Bandwidth for $50or 10Mb unmetered ($75 /month)
I had a small dedi with Joe's and would recommend them for entry level dedis. Very nice people and great prices.
