Default Server Vs Desktop

I looked at some of the server specs and very expensive compare to Desktop, but specs are kind of similar. Why do we need to buy server instead of Desktop? Why can't we just use desktop as the server?

Server allows backup security, which is essential in case you use your computer for business purposes, to share files with your co-workers. And also cause server stores your data, in case your desktop loses the data due to some damage etc. This way server helps you from losing your data forever.

More to the point, server hardware configurations may offer the following advantages:
- more maximum memory
- increased expansion slots
- higher bus speeda
- more internal drive bays
- better support by "server" operating systems

Compared to a desktop computer/laptop a server is a specialized computer that centralizes file sharing for families, friends and co-workers.
Servers serve as the connection among workers of a company.

Servers can also be employed as a storage backup utility for personal use.

Yes for the long term a cheap server alternative would be the best. As when the business expends we need the option of cheaper price as well as the advantages a server has to offer for a large sclae business.

Servers often have additional management features of similar desktop components. Dell's DRAC card and Supermicro's IPMI are examples of this.

I think that a server CPU is better due to it being able to process tons of information, but then again, I might be missing out on something.
