Default Best Open-Source Server Monitoring Solution

I'm just wondering what you all are using to monitor large numbers of servers. I'm interested in moving from IMS to something open-source and was hoping to get some pointers or suggestions or software to avoid. Thanks.

I would also love to know of a good open source server monitoring software

I have recently been evaluating OP Manager. Its a great software but its really expensive.

It would be wonderful if I could get an open source software that does the same.

We're using Nagios. The level of customizability is really incredible, providing that you don't mind getting your hands dirty.

Hi Panopta,

Thanks for your post. It is really useful for me to get information like this from people who actually have experience in this sector.
