It depends on what the application needs. Hardware and brands are interchangeable at this point, if they all can run it. Am I right?

If I'd have the money, I'd buy IBM. They're at the brink of new discoveries all the time, and their machines run as a charm. But it's your call.

IT professionals are looking to transition to the new style of IT computing. As per my experience, Dell's technology has a long way to go. The support has been far better with Dell than HP.
