It appears that there are many posts that can be answered with quick answers. So my question is where is the best place to get the additional information on building a data center.
Here are two good books to start with, both available on Amazon and elsewhere:
- Build the Best Data Center Facility for Your Business (Alger)
- Enterprise Data Center Design & Methodology (Snevely)
I beleive TIA/EIA 942 standards has the most info/recommendations on build/designing a data center. This can be purchased online as well. I have built 17 world class data centers by this document.
I suggest you contact a vendor specializing in this so they can ask you the right questions. You can ask IBM/HP/EMC they have good partners that can help you.
My company specializes in Data Centre Builds and we have a Learning Zone for people who are trying to learn more about these places. If you feel it can help visit computer room construction management. It should help to provide some of the answers you are looking for. Or call us we like talking about Data Centres (sad huh!)
The more places you look for info, more advices you will get. So, i think its better to gather information from everywhere and then take decision wisely.
You can get technical information from books and sources regarding the construction of data centers and which conforms to EIA 942 standards. There are also some excellent online sources regarding this.
