I did some reading up about the advantages of cloud hosting (The article I read can be found here and what I learnt was that either of the two can be more secure but it depends on your setup. In most cases cloud hosting is said to be more secure.

I don't know much about the two but I am pretty sure this is true.

Regards,
ford

The cloud can be secure if you know what to use to secure it:

- Private or dedicated firewalls
- Intrusion Detection Devices (IDS)
- Intrusion Protection System (IPS)
- Data encryption
- A private cloud/dedicated hardware so you know where your applications and data are, and you know you're the only tenant using the cloud's resources (as opposed to multi-tenant, shared/public clouds).

I personally prefer cloud hosting. I believe it may cost a little more, but it is really worth it in the long run. As far as security, I don't really know which is better, but I feel pretty safe in "The Cloud".

With cloud hosting one could provision or build systems very rapidly and add memory and cpu on the fly as needed.

The computing power comes from an array of enterprise grade servers that have a minimum of 32 gigs of RAM per each physical device.

I'm a fan of cloud hosting. Just being on a dedicated server won't promise you more protection. Cloud tends to veer towards more protection, which is why I prefer them much more. They do cost a pretty penny though.

Hi Friends,
If you use a free hosting company, you may often get a huge ad on top of your website.

Smile cloud hosting or dedeicated server hosting is more secure?

Hello,

I personally think that dedicated servers is more secure. Why? Because you know where are you server and data, you can every-time check or arrive to take it.
